The 16th Osnabrücker Blueslawine will be opened by the american singer Big Daddy Wilson Blount, who is currently living in Northern Germany.
Big Daddy Wilson, who hails from a small place in North Carolina, came to Germany as a young soldier. At that time he didn't know the Blues – he found it in Germany
As he puts it: "Blues? I didn't know what it was, but when I found it, I found something that I had been missing all my life".
Blount's voice is full with warm Soul. For many years he shared a musical partnership with the German guitarist Wolfgang "Doc Fozz" Feld, who's guitar complemented Big Daddy's voice superbly.
At this concert Big Daddy Wilson will be joined on stage by the Canadian guitarist and singer/songwriter Dave Goodman from Victoria, BC.
Goodman spent some time in Northern California and established himself in the Blues scene of the Bay Area. From 1998 he has been living in Bremen.
The musical spectrum of this phenomenal guitarist reaches from sweet ballads to powerful Blues – which makes him the perfect match for Big Daddy Wilson.
Just before the Blueslawine Dave Goodman had to cancel his appearance due to sudden illness. The equally talented guitarist Michael van Merwyk was able to step in at short notice.
